Fun news everybody. I am on 20/20 tonight talking about the terrible Ruby Franke saga. And yes this is the one they filmed in my messy kitchen and bedroom podcast studio because I no longer experience shame.
If you want to get caught up before watching you can do it below.
But now onto the real reason you decided to open this email. The flour.
The other day many of you sent me a post about Ballerina Farm brand flour.
Yes.
Flour.
It costs $39 which seems outrageous at first glance and many of your messaged me with righteous outrage that I am always here to support for you. But I also wanted to try to have an open mind in order to prove to the Ballerina Farm fans that I am not simply an envious and jealous heathen, as they like to tell me that I am.
So the price of the Ballerina Farm flour is $39 for three five pound bags or $49.95 for a 25 lb bag which seems like a lot of flour…that’s about the size of a three year old.
Here is a description of the flour:
The wait is over; our high protein Artisan Bread Flour is finally here! Milled in Utah from organic wheat, our flour contains 14% protein and is the perfect companion to our Willa Starter to create delicious sourdough loaves. It also works great for pancakes, waffles and your other favorite flour-centered recipes.
I don’t bake a lot so we have had the same bag of flour since we moved into our house three years ago which means that I needed to do some googling on the going rate of flour.
And then I had to do MATH. Which despite my undergraduate degree in economics does not come so easily to me these days. But I was able to do an astute comparison.
